Master Sergeant Anthony Luciano, a Green Beret with the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), has spent 18 years serving his country with honor, earning both the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. But beyond his military accolades, he is a devoted father to three young boys—Gus (6), Rusty (4), and Jeremiah (2)—and a loving husband to his wife of nearly 12 years, Emily. Their life took a tragic turn two and a half years ago when Anthony was involved in a horrific accident while helping a friend cut down trees. A falling tree twisted in an unexpected direction, crashing down on Anthony and leaving him paralyzed from the neck down.

Doctors warned that he might never breathe on his own again, let alone walk. Anthony’s injuries were severe—spinal cord damage from C3-C6 and at T9, a traumatic brain injury, broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and a shattered femoral head. But they didn’t account for Anthony’s unwavering determination or the strength of his family and community. With thousands of hours of grueling physical therapy and alternative treatments, Anthony defied the odds. Today, he can walk with assistance, has functional use of his arms, and is slowly regaining his fine-motor skills. Every day brings new strength and new hope.

While still wheelchair-dependent, Anthony dreams of teaching his sons to throw a baseball, shoot a bow, and climb mountains—just as he did before his injury. Stem cell treatments have been pivotal in his progress, helping him regain sensation and mobility. Anthony and his family are committed to pursuing every available treatment to help him reach full independence. They are now hoping to fund two more rounds of stem cell therapy, which could bring him closer to achieving his dreams and giving his boys the childhood he envisioned.
