Here at Classy, mothers hold a special place in our hearts. In fact, our own story began when our founder, Scot Chisholm, set out with a group of friends to raise money for cancer research in honor of his mother’s battle.

Ahead of Mother’s Day on May 14, we want to take a moment to reflect on all of the ways mothers around the world—new moms, mothers-in-law, chosen moms–inspire us every day.

Mamas, we want to say thanks. Thank you for all of the advice, laughter, and curated moments that remind us we are loved. To put our gratitude into words, we’ve compiled a list of some of the most beautiful Mother’s Day quotes in honor of people like you.

So, happy Mother’s Day, mom. This one’s for you.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.

Put These Beautiful Mother’s Day Quotes to Use

Take advantage of this special day to deepen your connection with the mothers who fuel your nonprofit mission.

Here are a few ideas on how nonprofits can create a meaningful Mother’s Day:

  • Analyze your supporter base in the days and weeks leading up to Mother’s Day.  Identify how prevalent this demographic is in your organization and craft a heartfelt, personalized Mother’s Day card for each woman who treats your nonprofit family like her own. A handwritten note or personal phone call is a great way to show how much you care. You might even source gift ideas from their friends or family to surprise them with something special.
  • Craft an email series that highlights individual mothers in your community. Celebrate their involvement by highlighting the tangible ways each mother has impacted your mission. Highlight particular donor stories and testimonials, or interview a few women about their connection to your cause. Don’t be afraid to include a few inspirational quotes from our list, or include a printable card each woman can hang up in their home as a reminder of their impact on others.
  • Take your message to social media. Share a few posts that spotlight the mothers involved with your organization. Incorporate a handful of your favorite Mother’s Day quotes directly into your posts or captions, and elevate your message with photos or videos of the special women who make your goals possible. A meaningful message is the fastest way to a mother’s heart
