11 Days | 11 Friends | $11 Increments
For more than 30 years, the Harlem Educational Activities Fund (HEAF), has been changing the lives of young people from underserved communities, beginning in middle school and continuing through college and beyond with a youth development approach that includes rigorous year-round academic enrichment, social and cultural exposure and constant individual attention.
HEAF’s commitment to education:
HEAF makes an 11 year commitment to help kids from some of the most underserved communities in NYC prepare for, gain access to and succeed in college
The organization partners with students and their families starting in middle school, providing:
- academic enrichment
- personal development and support
- networking opportunities and career exposure
- college readiness & success
In support of the 11-year commitment, we graciously ask to give what you can, whether it's $11 or more. It's give $11 and ask 11. It's that simple. And with your help, we can take this small grassroots campaign and turn it into something even bigger, allowing HEAF's commitment to bridging the education and opportunity gaps for our students to remain strong and unwavering.
Let's reach our $88,000 goal - in 11 days. #11X11 TOGETHER it will be done!
HEAF, the Harlem Educational Activities Fund(www.heaf.org) is an extraordinary college prep and leadership program founded in 1989 by Daniel and Joanna Rose. HEAF was established in response to a compelling need to close the opportunity gaps in public education confronting underserved minorities in Harlem, Washington Heights, the Bronx and Brooklyn. Since that time, we have expanded our reach of the "forgotten middle" to include students from four of the five boroughs attending over 100 public schools across the city. HEAF creates pathways to college and the professional world for over 600 deserving New York City youth each year, by providing resources that help them achieve higher education, fulfilling careers, and greater lifetime earnings.
