Tech Exchange's refurbished computers
close the digital divide.
Can YOU support our warehouse operations?
In order to close the digital divide and provide free computers in our community, Tech Exchange operates a warehouse in Oakland, CA where we refurbish thousands of devices every year. Our staff and paid interns collect almost 100 tons of e-waste annually, then meticulously restore it, turning trash into treasure for our computer recipients.
Some devices require high-security attention, so our team physically destroys their old hard drives using a vise-like machine. Data destruction is a painstaking process, and our staff currently records certification information manually.
To improve this process, Tech Exchange must purchase an essential piece of equipment—the PD-5 Ironclad— that will make data destruction more efficient and compliant. Your gift will support our warehouse operations and allow us to refurbish more high-quality computers to distribute in the community.
