2024 WCS Day of Giving has raised $788,135 out of their goal of $625,000
Tuition provides us what we need to be great.
Philanthropy makes us extraordinary.
The Spartan Challenge
Debra & David Humphreys '75, along with Helen & Russ Meyer, invite you to partner with them in raising the necessary funds for WCS to uphold its proud tradition of educational excellence. Their generous contributions of $100,000 each—totaling $200,000—will be unlocked once we raise $425,000 toward our overall goal of $625,000 for the 2024-25 unrestricted Fund for Collegiate.
How Your Gifts Make a Difference
A donation of this amount could cover curriculum enhancements at any one of our divisions. Gifts at this level made last year funded many updates and advancements throughout our school, among them books for our Middle School Literature students, and updated photography equipment for our Upper School Fine Arts students.
Gifts at this level could be used to underwrite items from our teacher wish lists. A donation made last year in this amount allowed us to purchase new supplies for Lower School Technology classes. Such a gift could also provide meaningful support to our athletic teams or any one of our Learning Labs.
A contribution such as this facilitates critical upgrades and improvements like the essential repairs to Mr. Elmore's digital piano used for Early Childhood music lessons afforded through last year's donations. Your gift could also make a substantial impact on the technology available to our students. Some of last year's gifts, for example, went towards new scientific calculators and iLab equipment upgrades for this year's Middle School students.
Your generous donations contribute significantly to larger projects or ambitious goals. Gifts like this will make a considerable impact on WCS this year by allowing us to afford $35,000 in security and tech upgrades across campus. Alternatively, your gift could enrich your child's education by enabling a teacher to attend a sought after professional development conference or experience.
Celebrating Coach Clark Ensz
At the end of the last 2023-24 school year, after 18 years as head coach to our WCS Cross Country and Track & Field teams, Coach Clark Ensz retired. This Day of Giving, you can choose to make your donation in his honor by selecting this designation on the pull down menu featured on this site's donation page. Donations made in Coach Ensz's name will help fund a much needed WCS Bus while also prioritizing support for our athletic teams, student Health & Wellness, and a plaque and end of year celebration honoring our beloved Spartan coach.
Why Give Today?
The WCS Day of Giving is the official kick-off to our annual fundraising effort, which raises money every year through our Fund for Collegiate to benefit our students, staff, and school. Unrestricted gifts allow WCS to say “yes” to those things that make our school so special: academic programs, student support, faculty development, arts, athletics, extracurricular activities, and campus upgrades.
In a great show of solidarity, 100% of our Board of Trustees have already pledged their donations in support of WCS this year. And it is in gratitude to our stellar Faculty & Staff that Bradley Fair makes their gift of over $30,000. We are grateful to these champions of our school as well as our other Leadership Donors listed below who have pledged a bedrock of support to this annual fundraising effort.
We hope you choose to join these generous supporters in their whole hearted support of WCS. Gifts to the school can be made any day of the year, but Day of Giving presents our Spartan community the chance to step up together, all at once, in support of the school we love.
