A Thriving Native Fishery has raised $34,873 out of their goal of $250,000
Help save Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout in their
last-best native watershed
For over two decades, Friends of the Teton River (FTR) has been a leader in researching and understanding Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout (YCT) in the Teton River watershed - one of the last strongholds of the species' native range. This work has led to a significant rebound in population numbers and now, FTR's fisheries data is among the most robust data sets available for any western watershed and native trout species.
Long-term data helps determine patterns in the watershed over time, including the effects of climate change, impacts on water quality and habitat, and efficacy of restoration work and management strategies. By studying the data, we can determine where to focus our efforts to improve the fishery in this last-best watershed for YCT.
