HELP KIDS THRIVE

WGIRLS is partnering with the Chicago Children's Advocacy Center for its annual initiative to help provide school supplies to the over 400 students and 2,000 families they provide invaluable support to.

Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) serves as a front-line responder to reports of child abuse in our Chicago communities. Since opening their doors in 2001, they have served nearly 40,000 children who have fallen victim to physical abuse, been witness to violence in the home, and/or other serious maltreatment that no child should be subject to. The Chicago CAC is a powerful advocate serving the youth, the future of our communities.  

With schools closures and stay at home orders in place, the need for support from community members is more urgent now than ever before:

The 2020 school year poses a unique set of circumstances, which is why it is more important than ever that these children are provided with tools and support to be successful academically, socially, and emotionally.  It is the Chicago CAC's intent to keep their critical services operational for the families they serve and have pivoted accordingly, to make it possible to remain a fully operationalized for the families that rely on their resources and support. 

How can you help support Chicago's youth be successful this school year?

1. You may do so through this campaign. 100% of the proceeds go directly to the Chicago Children's Advocacy Center.
2. In addition to this campaign, WGIRLS Chicago will be hosting a virtual fundraising event to help raise awareness of child abuse and uniting public, private, and community partners to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of abused children.
