The California School-Age Consortium (CalSAC) would like to extend a special invitation to you to be a champion for the out-of-school time (OST) field, such as before school, afterschool and summer learning programs and professionals. Thanks to generous supporters of the California Afterschool & Summer Challenge over the past 20 years, thousands of OST professionals and youth have developed skills in civic engagement and have had a forum to make their voices heard at the State Capitol.
On March 11-12th hundreds of OST professionals and youth will join together at the California Afterschool & Summer Challenge to demonstrate to legislators, peers and the public “with their feet” that the OST field is organized, motivated and determined to ensure that afterschool programs remain vital and strong for the young people who need them most.
At CalSAC, we believe that every person should have the opportunity to advocate for the things that are most important to them, which is why we offer the Challenge experience low cost or no cost to all participants.
Nonetheless, the cost for facilitating such an involved event is substantial, which is why we need your help. Will you join us in supporting youth and OST professionals as they tell their stories at the State Capitol this spring?
By becoming a Community Sponsor, you are stepping forward to create opportunities for young people to explore civic engagement, advocate for their communities, and build their leadership. Your support will also ensure that we are able to keep this important program, valued at $250 per person, low cost to anyone who wants to participate. Together we can positively impact the lives of children and youth!
