About the Campaign

In March 2024, Ambassador Carlie Graham is attempting the first female infinity loop of Pico De Orizaba volcano, the highest peak in Mexico, with her good friend and longtime adventure partner Bellamy Weibel. These two have been steady outdoor companions, from going on their first hike together to successfully completing an unguided of Rainier at age 18. Now they will use their spring break in March 2024 to fly to Mexico City, attempt the route, and have another memorable outdoor adventure together.

Carlie is turning what is already a high-altitude mountaineering adventure (the summit stands at 18,491 ft elevation) into an even more impressive trail running and mountaineering route. An infinity route entails two summits, linked by two opposing trails on the ascent and descent to form an infinity symbol. This route will include the Ruta del Sur and the Jampa Glacier routes.

Originally from Washington state, Carlie is now in Southern California attending college. When COVID hit, Carlie jumped into backpacking, climbing and mountaineering and hasn’t looked back since. Currently, she runs the climbing team at UCI and is looking for more ways to get involved in climate advocacy and increasing accessibility to outdoor recreation.

Revenue from this fundraiser will be channeled in scholarships sponsored by The Cairn Project that offer transformative outdoor opportunities for young women and gender expansive youth. Learn more here
