About CDCPDA
At the Central District Community Preservation and Development Authority (CDCPDA), we believe that economic opportunity and community space should be accessible, sustainable, and built collectively. For decades, the Central District has been a hub for Black business and culture, but systemic barriers have pushed many long-time residents, entrepreneurs, and community spaces out.
That’s why CDCPDA is preserving and strengthening the McKinney Center, a historic space and community hub that provides affordable tenancy, networking, and skill-building opportunities for Black businesses, nonprofits, and community-serving organizations, along with tenant services that neighbors can access. But we can’t do this work alone. We do it together, and that’s where you come in.
Why Monthly Giving?
Our work is about economic empowerment and access, ensuring that the Central District remains a place where Black businesses and community organizations not only survive but thrive. When you become a monthly donor, you’re not just funding a program, you’re fueling businesses and services led by and for the community. Your monthly support ensures that together we can:
Consistent support from monthly donors allows us to plan effectively, respond to emerging community needs, and sustain our programs year-round. Plus, it's a convenient way for you to make a lasting difference without a significant one-time commitment.
