Help Prevent Drowning in Children With Autism
Children with autism are 160 times more likely to drown than their neurotypical peers. We’ve experienced this tragedy among our own student body and know the heartbreak.
Children with autism often “elope” or wander from where they’re safe. They’re often drawn to water and curious about it. This can be a deadly combination.
Children with autism must learn to swim, yet they often acquire swim skills differently than neurotypical children. Traditional swim programs often do not work for children with autism.
These kids need adaptive swim lessons — URGENTLY.
See 7 tips to reduce the risk of drowning in children with autism.
Our nonprofit school provides adaptive swim lessons for every student. Our program has proven highly effective and has become a model for others.
We need help funding these swim lessons.
You Can Help!
This Autism Awareness Month, please help fund adaptive swim lessons for children with autism at our nonprofit school. You can give to the overall swim program or donate to a specific class. The classes are competing to see which can raise the most funds.
Every dollar given by April 30 unlocks another dollar in a generous 2X match we've been offered — up to $50,000! 🌟 MATCH EXTENDED TO MAY 7! 🌟 That means your gift will impact twice as many children.
Every donation helps!
