Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2024

Healing in Community

This Eating Disorders Awareness Week, Project HEAL is exploring how community plays a pivotal role in healing our relationships with food and body.

Healing isn’t just about getting a diagnosis or going through treatment, though both can be critical to some people’s healing. Healing is about regaining agency, or the power to think for ourselves and act in ways that shape our experiences and life trajectories.

This week, Project HEAL is letting our community be our compass as we engage and highlight what community means, its importance, and the ways in which community often supplements formal treatment when those who are struggling can’t access treatment or want to explore healing outside the formal treatment landscape.

Project HEAL believes that we ALL deserve the resources and opportunities to heal - and that includes community.

Find out more about our work and community on our website and social media.

Project HEAL's 2024 Eating Disorders Awareness Week is sponsored in partnership with Arise.

Treatment Cycle for One Person $3,000

$3,000 is the average cost of a full treatment cycle for one person through Project HEAL.

Fundraise

Cover a Deductible $1,000

Many folks struggle affording treatment, in part, because of their insurance deductible. Often, a deductible can be as high as $1,000. By raising $1,000, you are helping someone through one of the many hurdles of accessing treatment.

Fundraise

Community Support for One Person $500

When a person needs support healing outside of formal treatment, Project HEAL's Community Care program from Body Reborn provides a virtual, intersectional community for those who struggle with disordered eating and have faced systemic barriers due to race. Cover a full 8 week program for one person.

Fundraise

Travel & Lodging $250

For those seeking treatment the cost of traveling to and from the treatment center, or paying for lodging while accessing treatment away from home, acts as a barrier to seeking care. Project HEAL's Cash Assistance program directly funds travel and lodging, along with other expenses, for those impacted by this hurdle.
