How To Help
The Y is the unparalleled cause for strengthening community because we are the community. We are a powerful association of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility.
This is a living document of our ever-evolving work toward a more just, equitable, diverse, and inclusive organization and world. Working toward equity and justice requires organizations like ours, to listen deeply and respond to those most impacted by these injustices.
Help youth, teens, adults and families experience activities that foster self- expression and build self-esteem, develop imagination, critical thinking and valuable social skills. Our Community Dance Academy students develop a love for expressing themselves through dance.
Help us focus on nurturing the potential of every child with age appropriate, center-based learning activities and a curriculum that develops social, emotional and creative skills to establish a lifelong love of learning. Childcare programs that protect and nurture the children help parents feel better about going to work and providing for their families.
Help us with our mission. Food insecurity is, simply put, a lack of access to affordable and nutritious food. This is a bigger problem than you may think, especially now during a pandemic. That terrifying thought leaves families to make decisions no one should have to make, like: “Should I pay my bills, buy this medicine, or buy nutritious food for my kids?”
STRONGER TOGETHER. More than ever, our community needs the YMCA as we respond to critical needs during this public health crisis. As a trusted source of support and leading human services provider in Mercer County, we stand ready to comfort and serve our most vulnerable individuals, children and families. We are grateful for your support; which enables us to respond to urgent challenges faced by those we serve.
Though the world may be unpredictable, one thing remains certain – the Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected and secure children, adults, families, and communities. Make a lasting impression by becoming a President’s Circle donor. We could not do it without you!
The Capital Area YMCA is a charitable non-profit 501(c)3 community service organization (Ein# 210-635-052) that has been providing these vital programs and services to the community for more than 100 years. We have a long standing history in the Mercer County area. Our history has been proud and strong, but our future is even stronger when we all stand together.
We would be grateful to count you as a partner who helps us provide support to our community and our neighbors and to continue our mission.
