Give Hope Society has raised $38,780 out of their goal of $100,000
Ways to Support Our Mission
Our facility helps fight food security by providing three nutritious meals daily, and food assistance to clients who live off-site. The Shade Tree, with the help of donors, makes special accommodations to clients who have dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, vegan, low sodium, etc. With a gift of $1,000, we can provide 20 clients with meals monthly.
The Shade Tree provides medical care through our Stallman Touro Clinic. On-site care gives our clients a sense of safety by not leaving the property for necessary services. With your help, we can continue providing safety, needed medical supplies, and services that our clients may not otherwise have access to.
One of the greatest barriers for survivors of domestic violence is access to child care. Victims of domestic violence may return to their abuser due to a lack of financial stability. With your gift, we can provide access to child care and give a survivor a path to self-reliance.
Victims of domestic violence may take one to seven times to leave their abuser. The Shade Tree helps our clients gain independence and financial stability. The Transitional After-care program was created to assist continue case management and provide clients with resources, so they do not feel the need to return to an abusive relationship for survival.
About the Campaign
For thirty-four years, The Shade Tree has provided life-changing services to homeless and abused women, women with children, and their pets. The Shade Tree started as a basement operation but once the need for services for women and children was seen, our organization was born. Today, Nevada ranks 4th in the nation for domestic violence and intimate partner violence. At the heart of Nevada's battle against domestic violence stands The Shade Tree, a beacon of hope and transformation. Dedicated to empowering survivors, The Shade Tree offers life-changing services that go beyond immediate safety. By providing shelter, counseling, and essential resources, we assist survivors in regaining their independence and reducing the likelihood of returning to their abusers. But The Shade Tree's impact doesn't stop there. Recognizing the generational nature of abuse, The Shade Tree also offers vital programming for children. By addressing trauma and fostering healing, we aim to break the cycle of abuse, ensuring a better future for the next generation. Through our unwavering commitment, The Shade Tree shines as a symbol of strength and renewal in the fight against domestic violence.
The Shade Tree is not just a shelter; we are a resource center that understands the multifaceted needs of survivors of domestic violence. Within our walls, we provide a comprehensive support system that encompasses both physical and emotional well-being. By offering on-site programming that provides these essential services within our facility, we remove the barriers that often deter survivors from seeking help. The clients feel a profound sense of safety, knowing they can access the support they need without venturing back into a potentially dangerous situation. Clients can find solace in the fact that they have access to on-site medical and mental health services, ensuring their health is tended to in a safe and nurturing environment.
In addition to healthcare, The Shade Tree ensures that no one goes hungry or feels neglected. Clients are served three nutritious meals a day, fostering a sense of comfort and nourishment during their journey towards recovery. This commitment to basic human needs is a cornerstone of our organization, allowing clients to focus on healing and rebuilding their lives.
The Shade Tree recognizes that the fight against domestic violence is a collective effort, and it cannot be waged alone. With a mission to empower survivors and break the cycle of abuse, The Shade Tree relies on the generosity of major gifts to ensure its vital work continues. These substantial contributions provide the necessary funds to sustain and expand critical resources that enable survivors to achieve financial independence and self-reliance.
Major gifts not only make an immediate impact but serve as an investment in the future of survivors and their families. They help secure safe housing, job training programs, counseling services, and educational initiatives that empower survivors to thrive independently. Together, we can give hope to a survivor by creating a safer, stronger future for all those affected by domestic violence.
