Operation Eye Rescue

Restoring Vision Around the World

About the Campaign

More than 10 million people suffer from corneal blindness worldwide—equivalent to the population of Paris. In many developing countries, the Chain of Sight is broken by a lack of resources, funding, and expertise.

However, corneal blindness is treatable.

Operation Eye Rescue® is leading the effort to restore sight to children, women, and men around the globe who otherwise could not afford the operation. When surgeons, volunteers, and compassionate individuals complete the Chain of Sight, the corneally blind can see again.

Operation Eye Rescue provides sight to the corneally blind who otherwise could not afford the operation. We do this both in the U.S. and abroad. Contributors fund the direct cost to process the tissue for one or more operations. We then identify the surgeons willing to donate their services, take care of all tissue processing and related administration.

A Sustainable Mission

DMEK $25

Using a submerged dissection technique, KeraLink provides a pre-punched cornea for DMEK, saving time in the OR, cost of a trephine, and the risks associated with preparing the donor cornea in the OR. Unique peripheral orientation marks are an additional benefit, which is made possible by having a central attachment and a pre-punched DMEK graft.

Donate

DSAEK $50

KeraLink collaborates with each surgeon to customize graft thickness and marking preferences for DSAEK procedures. Hitting the thickness target is key whether it is used for conventional or Ultra-Thin DSAEK. Pressure and pass speed are systematically regulated to produce accurate thickness, more symmetric grafts and larger graft diameters.

Donate

Sclera $100

KeraLink’s sterile scleral patch grafts arrive hydrated in saline, ready to use for your glaucoma drainage device procedures. Store these sterile patch grafts at room temperature for up to two years and have them available for those unscheduled cases or if needed for tectonic support, revisions of trabeculectomy flaps or exposed tube shunts. No rinsing or rehydration required.

Donate

VisionGraft $500

We strive to honor the gift of donation through research and innovation. As a direct result of this commitment, VisionGraft® became the first sterile corneal allograft available to ophthalmologists. KeraLink International’s exclusive process preserves corneal tissue so it is ready to use whenever you need it.
