New Door Ventures #GivingTuesdayNow Fundraiser to Get Youth Back to Work to Get has raised $11,959 out of their goal of $40,000
Provide a month of wages and stipends to vulnerable Bay Area youth so they can stay afloat through the COVID-19 crisis and get back to work once the shelter-in-place order is over.
The Bay Area’s vulnerable populations still need access to a steady paycheck and the skills and support needed to pave a pathway to financially stable adulthoods.
As our world changed literally overnight amid the Shelter-In-Place Order, New Door Ventures was hit doubly hard: first, with the immediate challenge of taking our employment and educational programming virtual, and then the financial strain of closing our two social enterprises, Ashbury Images and Pedal Revolution.
We're struggling to fill the gap from the loss of revenue while also providing economic assistance to our interns who can't currently report to work.
New Door remains committed to financially supporting vulnerable youth in the Bay Area through the duration of the COVID-19 shelter-in-place mandate, but we need your help.
Without access to a paycheck, education, or emotional support, our young people, who were already at-risk for a lifetime of instability, increased disconnection and low wages, will come out of this international crisis even more behind.
Our $40,000 goal will cover a month’s worth of wages and stipends for Employment and Education Program interns, ensuring that they are able to make ends meet during this crisis and get back to work once the shelter-in-place order is over.
