Your Support

p1440 has been awarded a grant from Dick’s Sporting Goods to help fund the p1440 Gives Back Program in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati. With the generosity of our donors, 42% of our fundraising goal has been raised!

However, with additional costs to support program staffing, sports equipment, and educational training materials, we need your support to fully fund the program.

Your gift will allow the p1440 Foundation to continue strengthening opportunities within the sport and provide a space for the beach volleyball community to grow and flourish through the p1440 Gives Back program.

About the p1440 Gives Back Program

p1440 Gives Back focuses on providing under-resourced communities with after-school programming targeting beach volleyball, movement, and mindfulness. The objective is to address barriers of entry to the sport impacting access, including, a lack of awareness and visibility, shortage of resources (coaches, equipment, facilities), and lack of role models.

Program Structure

With your donation, the p1440 Foundation, in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati, Avondale location, will implement a comprehensive program running the span of six weeks, three times per week for 90 minutes, for up to 30 students during the months of October and November 2023. The sessions are composed of:

- Volleyball Skills Training to introduce participants to the sport

- 'Off the Court' Movement to engage participants in exercise and build healthy habits

- Mindfulness Exercises focused on emotional self-awareness, breathwork, and stress relief

Participants will leave the p1440 Gives Back program with a foundation in beach volleyball, as well as a toolkit with physical and mental exercises to incorporate into a healthier and happier lifestyle.

Teachers and school staff of this program are also left with training tools and methodologies as well as p1440-provided equipment and a program curriculum on how to run exercises for their students on an ongoing basis.

About the p1440 Foundation

The p1440 Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the vision of a world where beach volleyball is a vehicle for change, inspiring its greater community, from all backgrounds and skill levels, to become the best version of themselves, on and off the court. The mission of the p1440 Foundation is to unite, empower, and inspire through the transformative sport of beach volleyball.

p1440 was co-founded in 2018 by three-time Olympic Gold Medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings and her husband, pro beach volleyball player, Casey Jennings. With 1440 minutes in a day, Kerri Walsh Jennings has always believed in making the most of every one of those minutes and incorporated that mindset into the development of the organization’s messaging and overall commitment to its participants.

As a for-profit, the original aim of p1440 was to engage, equip, and encourage athletes (youth and adults) to (1) apply learnings in sport to life and to (2) become leaders in the community through service and a commitment to living their best life. However, in 2023, p1440 transitioned from a for-profit to a non-profit, becoming the p1440 Foundation, which is focused on expanding and growing the game of beach volleyball through youth-based initiatives. The Foundation is an expansion of p1440’s existing initiatives and beyond. By creating space for individuals of all ages and skill levels to learn, play, and compete, we can provide access to the game and strengthen opportunities. The organization is committed to the same passion for beach volleyball with added emphasis on the development of individuals’ mind, body, and spirit.
