Let My People Learn!

In the ten years since Yaffed was founded, we've seen increased awareness about the issue of educational neglect of Hasidic yeshiva students, as well as long-awaited action by state education regulators. Now lead by Beatrice Weber, a mother of 10 children who attended Hasidic yeshivas, Yaffed advocates tirelessly for the 50,000+ students receiving no proper academic education. 

Yaffed was founded by Naftuli Moster, who attended Hasidic yeshivas all his life and sought to understand why he had been denied even the most basic academic education by his community's leaders. How was this allowed, he wondered as he rushed to remediate his own learning to pursue a college degree?

Lead then and now by those directly affected, Yaffed has demanded that city and state leadership step in and enforce the law: that all children receive an education that is at least substantially equivalent to the education their public school peers get.
