Join our Virtual Annual Hike Campaign

September 26th through October 24th

Each year more than 100 people from all over New Jersey and beyond hike the Appalachian Trail to raise money for Project U.S.E.'s powerful experiential programming.  This year, in celebration of the 20th year of the hike, we're looking to engage as many participants in a virtual hike campaign to get people outside and active between September 26th to October 24th.

With your help, Project U.S.E. will continue to innovate and offer programming to the students we serve who need connection, support, and community now more than ever.

How Can I Support the Campaign?

Anyone can get involved and support our campaign - click below to learn more about three quick, easy ways to get started today.

Register to participate in the campaign by walking or hiking during the campaign dates from September 26th to October 24h. We'll be encouraging Project U.S.E. supporters like you to share photos, posts, and information about their progress on social media, including sharing why getting outdoors and being connected to nature is important for you. If you are a Project U.S.E. supporter living in a state outside of New Jersey (or even in another country), you can still sign up to participate!

You can also offer support for our campaign by donating to support your favorite participant (see below for a list of teams and participants), sharing our social media posts, and passing the word along about our campaign to family, friends, and other people.

You won't be participating in this virtual hike campaign alone! We have three teams set up for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts of all abilities, including newcomers. You can sign up on a team and commit to hiking at least 6 miles, 16.5 miles, or 50 miles over the four weeks of the campaign. We ask that participants raise at least $200 by asking for donation pledges for each mile hiked and share photos and stories about their progress and favorite hiking spots on their fundraising page. It's quick and easy to sign up - join one of the hike challenge teams using the buttons above and help us raise money for our mission while staying active and enjoying nature!
