We believe in the freedom to transform.
At Queer Asterisk, we are creating a culture of acceptance and inclusion by providing therapeutic services that give people the support they need to transform into the fullest expression of themselves.
We also recognize that this is not the culture that most of us find ourselves in. Did you know that according to the 2011 National Transgender Discrimination Survey found that:
- Transgender and gender non-conforming youth (grades K-12) experienced markedly higher rates of harassment and bullying in school.
- Transgender and gender non-conforming adults face higher rates of unemployment or underemployment.
- Of those that have found employment, a staggering 90% have reported experiencing harassment in the workplace.
- 41% of respondents reported attempting suicide at some point in their lifetime, a rate which is 25% higher than the general population.

Queer Asterisk is a 501c3 non-profit that is uniquely positioned to serve queer and transgender children, adults and families. As queer and transgender people ourselves, we understanding the obstacles to effective queer and trans informed mental health care firsthand. Since 2016, we have impacted hundreds of lives in Colorado and beyond through educational trainings, community programs and therapeutic services to advance our belief in a culture that grants each and every one of us the freedom to transform.

Some people don't believe in unicorns. Here at Queer Asterisk, we do. We see them everyday in our vibrant queer and trans communities - magical creatures transforming into their most authentic selves and, in turn, inspiring those around them to do the same.
The thing is, unicorns need sparkles to keep growing and evolving. There are people in this very moment who are fighting for a world without unicorns and the brightness that they bring.
This is precisely why our team of professional therapists and educators are dedicated to listening, supporting and encouraging them. We believe that each and every one has an important place in this world.

Queer Asterisk provides therapeutic services to queer and trans folks through counseling, community building and educational outreach.
We are a team of queer and trans therapists and educators fostering a queer healing environment valuing compassion and connection as vital components to individual and collective healing, growth and empowerment.
Based in Boulder, Colorado, Queer Asterisk utilizes the cross-pollination of Eastern and Western perspectives to inform a contemplative and wholistic approach to therapy, community and social activism.
