Help Families Stay on the Road to Healing!

Every day, families battling childhood cancer face overwhelming uncertainty. But with the Emilio Nares Foundation (ENF) by their side, they never have to face it alone..

Families find comfort in our Family Resource Center, nourishment from our Snack Bags program, warmth in handmade blankets from Creating for Hope, and critical end-of-life support when needed.Through the Ride With Emilio program, children receive free, safe transportation to life-saving treatments—because missing an appointment should never be an option. But our care goes beyond the ride. This year, we’ve expanded our impact with Healing Through Nature, giving families a chance to find peace and strength outdoors.

ENF’s continuum of care ensures that families have the support they need every step of the way.

Family Resource Center $1,000

Our team offers multilingual, wrap-around services, connecting families to shelter, food, mental health support, employment, childcare, and more. We also offer bedside assistance when a child is in the hospital.

We offer one-on-one and group knitting and crocheting sessions for parents, guardians, and children at the hospital, offering a supportive therapeutic outlet. These sessions help build community, offer peer support, and decrease isolation, all while supporting mental health.

There are no words to capture the heartache of a family facing the loss of a child. We provide financial assistance, emotional support, and protection from predatory practices when planning a funeral to honor their loved one—ensuring no family grieves alone.

Healing Through Nature $50

In 2025, ENF is launching Healing Through Nature, in partnership with the San Diego River Park Foundation. This program will offer guided outdoor excursions, wellness kits, and nature sessions to help families heal. We offer outdoor activities for families with children in recent cancer remission, where the healing power of nature helps to boost emotional and physical strength. This experience fosters a supportive community, allowing families to connect, share their journey, and heal from the trauma of a cancer diagnosis.
