Sailing for Scholars benefits Hudson River Community Sailing (HRCS), a youth development and community sailing organization based in NYC. Sail Academy is a sports-based youth development program that serves 250 students from public middle and high schools. Sail Academy aims to close the opportunity gap between students from under-resourced schools and their more affluent counterparts by providing STEM and leadership education, college access, internships, and workforce preparation. Over 90% of HRCS graduates have gone on to 4-year colleges. Community Sailing provides maritime access and education to the NYC community at large. Adaptive Sailing provides waterfront access, sailing education, and community-building to New Yorkers living with disabilities.
Help our teams raise funds to support HRCS core programs. Support your favorite team, or donate to our student or alumni teams!

HRCS is dedicated to creating an educational community for our students and community. Your donation allows us to purchase supplies for water-quality testing kits, underwater ROV projects, and more!
Help make sailing accessible for people of all abilities! HRCS partners with groups serving participants living with disabilities, from spinal cord injuries to visual impairment, to developmental disabilities. Our goal is to make NYC a place where everyone can feel safe, have fun, and be empowered on the water.
