About the Campaign
On Dec. 1, 2019, a group of riders led by PeopleForBikes supporter and leading bike attorney Megan Hottman attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the longest static cycling class in history.
Over 28 hours (the previous record was 26 hours) the group of 25 participants collectively rode the distance from New York to Los Angeles and back again. The event was live-streamed and enhanced by a broad-reaching media and promotion effort that highlighted PeopleForBikes' work across the United States. All sponsorships, individual rider contributions and donations that were made to this epic endeavor helped benefit PeopleForBikes in their mission of making biking better for everyone. While the team’s amazing effort ultimately culminated in successfully breaking the World Record, PeopleForBikes’ work still continues in their effort in making biking better, and safer, for everyone.
