ABOUT TRIVIA FOR CHEATERS
(AND WHY YOU SHOULD CHEAT)
A great night for bonding with friends and colleagues, 826CHI's Trivia for Cheaters, hosted by Chicago's very own Jill Hopkins, is a trivia competition that invites you to cheat creatively in the name of supporting 826CHI's mission to amplify Chicago's youth voices through the power of writing.
Assemble your smartest, most devious acquaintances to contend for a trophy, medals, and bragging rights as Chicago's best cheating trivia team, all while championing 2,000 Chicago students in building their writing confidence and becoming published authors and 100 CPS teachers in growing a love of writing in the classroom.

HOW IT WORKS
You and up to 3 friends (4 max) will compete against other teams for 5 rounds of questions presented by quizmaster Jill Hopkins.
To cheat or not to cheat? How your team plays is up to you, but some of our challenging questions may stump even the greatest pub trivia competitor.
Your team’s donations build your bank to purchase game-changing cheats.

THE CHEATS
Build your bank with your cheats! The more you raise, the more you can spend to knock out the competition. Teams will select cheats on the day of the event, which include:
PEEK, $50
Look at one opposing team's answer to one question. Must be truthful. (can only be used twice per round)
GATHER INTEL, $100
Use one smartphone/computer for 30 seconds.
EXILE, $200
Ban an agent from another team for one round. (Teams with only one remaining agent cannot be targeted.)
SHOEPHONE, $250
Use one smartphone/computer for one complete round.
(Cannot be used in Round 5, and can not be used with Double Trouble.)
Ask the Audience, $300
Ask an audience member for the answer to one question (can only be used in Rounds 1-4)
EVASIVE MANEUVERS, $300
Get full points for one question by writing Evasive Maneuvers in the answer line.
(1 per round)
DOUBLE TROUBLE, $500
Double your score for one full round.
(Cannot be used during Round 5.)
SAFEHOUSE, $750
Can be used to block all cheats launched at your team for one round. Can be used to defend against a launched Nuke, but must be purchased BEFORE Nuke is launched.
(Cannot be used in last round.)
THE WIPEOUT, $1,000
Eliminate all points for one team for one full round.
(One per team for the entire game and cannot be used in last round.
Anytime a Nuke is purchased, all teams must be notified.)

THE GLORY
Win the game and leave with one of three trophies for your home or office, declaring you the 2025 Trivia for Cheaters Champion.
1. Overall Winner
2. Top Fundraiser
3. Corporate Division Winner
Everyone leaves a champion for supporting Chicago students and 826CHI's mission! (But trophies are nice sometimes, too.)
