Lead Test Engineer (Classy Live)

Classy's Product Technology team is hiring a Lead Test Engineer to play a key role in designing, developing and executing software tests for the Classy Live event management platform. The ideal candidate has experience in both manual testing and creating automation for back-end services/APIs and front-end web applications.  We want to talk to you if you have a strong desire to do the right thing and be part of a high-performing collaborative team.

What you’ll do:

  • Participate on a cross-functional full-stack agile scrum team to deliver new and updated features, and bug fixes while contributing to the automated test suite for Classy Live
  • Design, develop and execute innovative and comprehensive test plans & test cases, and then automate those test cases to reduce the time it takes to go to market
  • Involved in all aspects of testing, both UI (React.js) and API, including:  design, component and integration-level testing and end-to-end customer experience focused testing
  • Work with systems leads and peers on system designs, requirements development, and process implementation for Classy Live
  • Participate in continual product improvement efforts and work with team members to implement best practices and procedures that reduce the time to market while increasing quality
  • Work with limited supervision, and take ownership of testing projects to achieve schedule, financial, and technical goals as assigned
  • Mentor other team members and share your subject matter expertise across teams
  • Collaborate with personnel across multiple disciplines and teams including: Engineering, Product management, Design, Sales and marketing and Customer care

What you bring (Required):

  • 4+ years experience designing, developing, and executing software tests on a fast paced scrum (agile) team developing a SaaS Platform or Distributed System 
  • 4+ years experience writing code used for testing software products or services (automation) - must be able to demonstrate intermediate coding skills
  • Experience working with a SaaS Platform running on AWS
  • Experience working on technical projects within cost and schedule as part of a product development scrum team
  • Strong interpersonal skills, intermediate level presentation skills, and professional demeanor
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly communicative team player with high level of customer empathy 
  • Flexible and able to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment

What would be awesome to have (Preferred):

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or Technical School for Programming
  • Experience with API tools like Postman
  • Coding expertise with Javascript
  • Experience with Javascript-based automation tools such as Cypress
  • Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills
  • Nonprofit or online fundraising experience
