Chicago has long focused on the need to close the achievement gap and better prepare our low-income students for high school and college success, yet not enough of our students are graduating from college once they get there. America Needs You (ANY) strives to combat this epidemic by fighting for economic mobility for ambitious, first-generation college students – students who are first in their families to attend college.
Join us for the 2018 Annual America Needs You - Illinois Young Leadership Board Winter Benefit to support the youth of Chicago! Your attendance will not only help raise awareness about ANY’s mission, but will also serve as a reminder that these students are our future!
Your Winter Benefit ticket includes a 3-hour open bar, passed appetizers, silent auction, raffle, cork pull and more.
About America Needs You
America Needs You (ANY) fights for the economic mobility of ambitious, first-generation college students – students who are first in their families to attend college. We achieve this mission by providing transformative mentorship, intensive career development and access to corporate partners and internships for our Fellows. ANY has served 1,200 Fellows since 2009 and operates in New York, New Jersey, California, and Illinois. Our intensive two-year program, focused on college completion and career success, is designed to address the unique social and emotional challenges first-generation students face and provide the career guidance and training they need for economic mobility.
Not only do Fellows graduate from the program confident in their ability to succeed in careers, but they also go on to achieve success in the workforce. Last year:
- 92% of Fellows completed internships
- 96% of Fellows graduated from college
- 91% of graduates secured employment or enrolled in graduate school within six months of graduating college
About America Needs You – Illinois (ANY-IL)
Launched in 2015, ANY-IL has served 150 Fellows from over 18 Chicago universities and colleges. We have ambitious plans to more than triple the number of students we serve annually by 2020.
