Cleveland-Marshall Law Alumni Association would like to invite you to attend a three credit hour CLE (pending approval) that will provide local legal professionals a look at Ethics and Ohio Professional Conduct. Kegler Brown’s annual seminar on professional responsibility is a well-regarded session focused on providing Ohio’s lawyers and judges with timely information regarding ethics and professionalism. The Recent Developments in Legal Ethics segment will cover recent ethics developments in advertising, soliciting clients, business relationships with clients, reporting misconduct and IOLTAs. Recent ethics opinions as well as recent Supreme Court of Ohio decisions will be discussed. The Lawyers Need Protection Too segment will discuss practical steps lawyers can take to help navigate the traps that exist in the everyday practice of law. The #Lawyers + Social Media segment is led with a discussion on the ethical concerns associated with lawyer’s use of various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and the like). The Rise of Solicitation and Advertising component will discuss the specific ethical rules involved with solicitation and provide case examples of solicitation found to violate the rules and those that are allowed, as well as discuss statistical rise in various forms of solicitation in Ohio.
