This education program will offer local attorneys the opportunity to learn more about the Ohio Innocence Project (“OIP”), its significance, and how they can become involved with the OIP from OIP staff attorney Brian Howe.  Additionally, the attendees will receive essentially an introductory seminar on how to litigate wrongful conviction cases and civil cases on behalf of exonerees from specialists in those fields.  Case Western Reserve University School of Law Senior Lecturer Carmen Naso will illuminate causes of wrongful conviction, explain the process of selecting exoneration cases, and describe the legal challenges to succeeding on those cases; Raymond Towler will provide personal insight and firsthand experience with exoneration and post-exoneration issues; and prominent Cleveland civil attorneys Terry Gilbert and David Mills will delve into Re-Entry issues, including civil litigation post-exoneration.  Finally, the program will end with a question and answer session for panelists.
