This workshop will provide an introduction to the world of pediatric clinical neuropsychology. Historically, the understanding of relationships between brain and behavior was established through the study of adult patients. However, the brain of the developing child does not play by the same rules as that of their adult counterparts. Developmental norms and social-environmental factors must be incorporated into the conceptualization of both form and function. Pediatric neuropsychological evaluation is a practice unique from the rest of clinical neuropsychology, in respect to preparation, assessment, interpretation, recommendation, and intervention. Theoretical foundations and clinical applications unique to pediatric populations will be reviewed through a variety of case examples.
Cost: $25 registration fee.
Registration: Limited to 50 attendees.
