Corpus Christi Polar Bear Plunge
Take the Plunge and Help Freeze out ALS.
**12/31/2016 edit: as of noon today, online registration is turned off so we can process everyone's info. You can still register tomorrow on site beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Fajitaville, 221 S. Hotel Pl, at North Beach. Thanks for the support!
A Polar Bear Plunge is a big group splash into the water for a good cause. It represents fearlessness, living life to the fullest, and charging into the new year with purpose.
There are four ways you can participate to help fight ALS!
1. Take the plunge.
Register here, and jump into Corpus Christi Bay at noon on New Year's Day. Registration includes a t-shirt (to the first 150), hot lunch, and drink (alcoholic or soft drink). Your registration fees go to our charity partner, ALS Therapy Development Institute. Your plunge helps raise awareness for the need to find a treatment and cure for ALS. You can also earn prizes by raising additional funds (see #4, below).
2. Attend as a supporter.
Register here just like any other participant, and you'll still get the t-shirt, lunch, and drink, but we promise we won't throw you in. Cheer on the polar bears and celebrate the new year with one of the most beautiful views of the Corpus Christi waterfront.
Your donation goes straight to our charity partner, ALS Therapy Development Institute, and by donating on this page, you help Corpus Christi reach its fund raising goal while showing local support for ALS. Sponsors and prize donors are also welcome. Visit http://www.polarbearplunge.cc/sponsors.
4. Build a team & raise funds
Encourage friends, family, and employers to donate to your plunge. The top fund raising team will earn prizes. Also, individuals who raise $25+ beyond the registration fee will get a fuzzy polar bear hat with mittens (use the "Can't attend? Donate now" link; must write "hat" in the notes section of the donation, and must pick up in person at the event, since we can't mail packets).
Before registering, please be aware of our weather contingency plan and also the full event details on the event web site, http://www.polarbearplunge.cc/.
