Join us for a conversation with Representative Chris Lee from Hawaii about his state’s 100% renewable portfolio standard (RPS) and its rooftop solar policies. In June 2015, Hawaii became the first state in the US to enact a 100% RPS, which requires that all of the state’s electricity sales come from renewable sources by 2045. Heather Bailey, the City of Boulder’s executive director of energy strategy and electric utility development, will join Representative Lee as a special guest to help explore how the lessons learned from Hawaii’s experience apply to Colorado.

The Sustainability Series (“S2”) is a collaboration between the Wirth Chair in Sustainable Development at the University of Colorado Denver’s School of Public Affairs (“Wirth Chair”) and the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado (“ASC”). The purpose of the S2 is to provide a forum for the discussion of ideas, principles, and strategies to enhance social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
