ABOUT THE EVENT

Here for the Girls, Inc. a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and the Colonial Road Runners announce the 14th annual Run for the Hills 5K/1 Mile Fun Run in Williamsburg, on the beautiful trails of New Town (starting at Sullivan Square located behind Legacy Hall, 4301 New Town Ave). The purpose of this popular event is to raise funds for young women affected by breast cancer. The family-friendly event begins at 8:00 am with a health expo featuring the newly added screening and prevention village followed by a 1K Fun Run/Walk at 9:00 am and the 5K at 9:30 am. The expo will remain open throughout the event and the race will be followed by awards and refreshments at Sullivan Square.

Race Tee Shirt

Tee Shirt deadline is September 16 to be guaranteed your exact shirt size and after that, sizes and availability as supplied permit, including race day.

Course Notes

Leashed dogs are welcome to run/walk with you! Strollers are welcome but please note some areas of the course may be difficult to maneuver.


Awards

5K top three overall men and women. The top three finishers in every 5-year age group from 19-and-under to 75-and-over. 5K Competitve Walkers top three overall men and women. 1 Mile Fun Run top overall finisher. 


OTHER AWARDS: Finisher medal for all along with best costume, best bra, and most pinked-out team!


Run Results

Race results will be posted after October 7th. 


Virtual Run Results

You can run your race anytime that is convenient for you, but you must submit your results between October 7th and November 30th. Results are self reported and ineligible for awards.

SCREENING AND PREVENTION VILLAGE

NEW for 2023 we are hosting an expanded health expo featuring a screening and prevention village. The village will include Sentara Health's mobile mammogram unit. We welcome our community partners to get involved! Be sure to click the links for more information!


All event sponsorships have the opportunity to host a booth at the expo. If you are not an event sponsor and would like to host an expo space please select from the options listed below. Please note that exhibitors do not receive sponsorship recognition or benefits for the event.

Race Day Packet Pickup Date/Time

Saturday, October 7th starting at 7:45 am before the race at the main entrance (Sullivan Square - New Town in Williamsburg, VA)


Race Day Registration

Day of Race Entries available at the main entrance starting at 7:45 am on Saturday, October 7th. 


Race Tees:

- All race particiapants will receive a tee. Tee sizes are not guaranteed after September 16th.

- We are unable to exchange shirt sizes until after the race is completed. 

- Pullover hoodies are part of a limited edition race entry that is available until August 31st. 


The Swag: 

All participants who register will receive a participation medal and a custom logo race t-shirt. Swag items will be mailed out to virtual participants in the two weeks following the end of the registration period.

Add a touch of friendly competition by challenging your friends & family to sign up on their own or create a team!! Challenge each other to see who can complete their virtual portion first or quickest! What about a little FUNraising?!
