Engender is Queer Asterisk’s annual community gala. Each year, we invite the public to join us for a virtual ceremony and fundraiser to celebrate and sustain our vital work in the field of queer and trans affirming mental healthcare.

As we navigate the constellation of our lives, each of us represents a luminous point that contributes to the brilliance of the whole. In this year's theme, Mapping the Moment, we invite you to tune in as we collectively orient ourselves within the ever-shifting landscape we find ourselves in.

Why now?

Why is it important to orient ourselves now? By coming together virtually, we're connecting the dots that form the constellation of our community. We're forging new relationships, strengthening existing bonds, and sharing the warmth of understanding and acceptance that Queer Asterisk has been cultivating for years.

Three years into a pandemic that has reshaped our lives, compounded by the dynamics of a changing political landscape and the pressing urgency of climate change, this event seeks to gather our bearings as a community. We come together to reflect on the journey we've traveled so far, acknowledging the isolation that has crept in and the strength we've found in regrouping. Through it all, there has been a continuous process of metamorphosis — elements shifting, ideas incubating, relationships gestating.
