Incense & Herb Bundle Making Workshop
About the Event
For the month of May, The Laundromat Project will focus on themes of Black and Asian solidarities. In collaboration with Nicholas Brooklyn, The LP is hosting an incense and herb-bundle making workshop that covers the cultural legacies of burning incense, palo santo, sage, and other herb bundles. The practice of burning incense is considered to be one of the most popular ways to invite and bring forth positive energy into communal spaces and lives. It is also often used in Asian and African diasporas as a method of connecting with ancestors. A local community member with expertise in incense and herb bundling will lead participants in the creation of intentional and artistic bundles of their own to evoke the people and energies they hope to connect with!
