Paddling for a Purpose
Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center, 505 Lake Street, Burlington, VT

Do you want to see more of your friends out on the water?

You know the magic that happens when you cast off into Lake Champlain and explore the hidden treasures of this natural gem. Help us share that experience with more people in the community!

We are hosting a Paddlethon to get more people out on the water this summer. Similar to a marathon, participants have 2 hours to paddle as many laps as they can, racing towards a personal goal while helping to raise money in support of lake access for everybody. Prizes are awarded along the way!

We've raised $1.8K Our Goal $16,000

We need your help to raise funds so everyone can access Lake Champlain.

We have a goal to reach $16,000. Will you help us reach that goal by donating to one of our rad paddle teams or awesome individuals working to meet their goal?

Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center

505 Lake Street, Burlington, VT 05401

The Community Sailing Center is located on Burlington, Vermont’s waterfront just north of Burlington’s A_Dog Skate Park and the Moran Plant.

With separate courses for kids and adults, Paddlethon is designed
to welcome everyone - from enthusiastic campers to seasoned
paddlers the chance to enjoy a friendly race against family and
friends!

Check out the two courses below:

Adult Course: .5 miles one way

Youth Course: .1 miles one way

How it Works:

  1. Register as a participant for the event on the event website. Indicate whether you will sign up as an "Adult" or "Youth" Paddler.

  2. Pledge to raise the required commitment amount before the Paddlethon event on July 27, 2025. This fee acts as your event registration, and if not fully raised, your credit card will be charged the remaining amount on July 27, 2025 at 9am.

  3. Create your fundraising page and set your fundraising goal. This page will be what you use to track your goal progress to rally your community in support. Personalize it and make it your own!

  4. Start fundraising! Share your fundraising page with your friends, family, community and inner circles. Whether you share via social media, email, snail mail, or go door to door, you are helping the Community Sailing Center get more people out on the water. The more you fundraise, the more prizes you can win. Top Fundraisers will receive a Grand Prize during the Awards Ceremony to follow the race. For help on where to start, or what to ask, check out the Promotional Toolkit section in your Paddle Packet (you receive after signing up)!

  5. Check in the day-of the event and paddle, paddle, paddle! You will have 2 hours to paddle as many laps as you can. Event Volunteers will be counting the number of laps you achieve to potentially win a prize. Have FUN on the water, and do as many laps as you can! You are making a difference in your community!
