49.6 MILLION REASONS

That's how many people are caught up in the grip of human trafficking. Hope for Justice invites you to join us for Running for Freedom 2023 as we run to raise awareness and funds for those trapped in exploitation.

Whether you are an avid runner or just starting out, there is a place for you in Running for Freedom! Come join us!

Can't make it to Florida? No worries, you can register below to join us virtually, running in your neighborhood, your hometown or your favorite running spot!

Who is Hope for Justice and why should you run with us?

Hope for Justice exists to bring an end to modern slavery by preventing exploitation, rescuing victims, restoring lives, and reforming society. Hope for Justice runs anti-trafficking projects all over the world, working directly with victims and survivors. Our community initiatives help to prevent modern slavery happening in the first place. Last year, the work of Hope for Justice reached 199, 894 children and adults. We want to be a voice for those whose voices aren’t being heard. We want to be a light in the darkness - a helping hand reaching out to those who thought they were alone.

The work of Hope for Justice has never been more desperately needed, and we need your help to continue this work. You are the one who brings freedom. By lacing up your shoes and hitting the ground running so that another human might find the freedom they so desperately need. You are the one who makes this possible. You are the one who someone else has been hoping for.

You get to race on behalf of the millions of boys, girls, men and women that are desperate for people to stand up for them. By bringing awareness and fundraising to your community, you will help break the bonds of slavery and set people free.

We truly believe that we can be the generation to end human trafficking – and with your support, we will. Help us bring freedom and rescue to those in need. Together, we are changing lives one step at a time.

REGISTRATION INFO

Step 1

If you are joining us in person, you must FIRST register and pay the fee on the Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic: HERE. When registering for your race, be sure to set the “Select Team” field to “Running for Freedom – Hope for Justice.” Registration fees vary by race.

Step 2

Once you have registered for the Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic or if you are running virtually, you need to then register on this page, pay the $25 fee, and set up your fundraising page. The fee covers the cost of your t-shirt and goody bag and ensures that 100% of the funds you raise goes straight to Hope for Justice. Virtually means that you can run anywhere but you are not officially running at the Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic.

Step 3

Be a part of the movement and commit to fundraise at least $400 per person for Hope for Justice. To participate in the Virtual Run or the 2022 Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic with Running for Freedom, we require you make a commitment to donate or raise funds of $400 or more to support Hope for Justice’s efforts. We must have received the minimum of $400 per person in fundraising from you by January 31st, 2023 for you to officially be part of Team Running For Freedom. Fundraising can continue after that date, but the minimum must be made at that time for planning purposes. If you are unable to satisfy this commitment, we reserve the right to refuse your participation in Running for Freedom.

REGISTRATION TYPE FOR RUNNING FOR FREEDOM:

Note: Remember if you are running at the Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic (in-person), you must register there first and then also register below.

All registration types for joining Running for Freedom is $25 per person

As an Individual

Once you click this type, you can select if you are running in-person (at the Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic) or virtually.

Create a Team (within our team)

Yes, we are all a part of Running for Freedom, but why not get some friends, coworkers and family involved and create a team! Set a team fundraising goal and all work together to reach it!

The total goal needs to at least equal $400 per team member, but for teams of 4 or more participants $200 can be taken off the total amount ie. 4 team members need to raise $1400 (4 x $400 = $1600 then - $200 = $1400), 5 team members need to raise $1800 (5 x $400 = $2000 then - $200 = $1800), 6 team members need to raise $2200 (6 x $400 = $2400 then - $200 = $2200), etc.

Teams can be created for both in-person and virtual participants.
Only 1 person needs to establish the team and register themselves.
Each team member needs to click the Join a Team and select the team name and register themselves to that team.
