Enjoy food and drinks from chefs and restaurants around the county as they share their favorite tastes from home during our first-ever Taste of Home event.
All proceeds support our newest 10-home community on El Norte Parkway in Escondido. Because of significant permitting delays and tight funding deadlines, this site will almost entirely be built using skilled labor instead of our usual volunteers. We need our entire community's help to make affordable homeownership possible for ten new Habitat homeowners. Learn more here.
Attendees will hear from our newest homeowners and fill their homes with good wishes by signing the exposed walls and beams on-site. Support the building of this project by participating in our raffle and auction (tickets will be sold at the event), win fun prizes, and learn about all the ways that San Diego Habitat works within our region.

Is this donation tax-deductible?
San Diego Habitat For Humanity is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We'll send it to you upon successful completion of your donation.
What does my ticket include:
All tickets include food and drink tastings, and a chance to sign the walls at the El Norte Parkway build site. General admission tickets do not include reserved seating, but there will be plenty of standing and seated options available.
Is there parking at the event site?
There is not, but we will offer complimentary valet parking, or you can park in the surrounding neighborhood and walk to the El Norte Parkway job site.
Can I buy raffle tickets?
Raffle tickets will be available at the event. They will be 1 for $5, 5 for $20 or 50 for $100. You can enter to win fabulous prizes!
What is the attire for this event?
This is an active construction site, so please wear closed-toed shoes! While we will have tents for you to sit under, the event will be outside, so please dress accordingly. But, this is a party, so feel free to get fancy!
What does this fundraiser benefit?
All funds will benefit our El Norte Parkway Campaign. We are pleased to be building our newest affordable community in Escondido, providing homeownership opportunities for 10 local families. However, since Habitat began predevelopment work on our El Norte Parkway project in 2019, the cost to build has increased by 37% — approximately $2 million! This is a result of delays caused by COVID-19 and continually increasing costs of building materials and supplies.
Will the event be ADA accessible?
This is a working construction site, but there will be a new driveway where we will host this event under tents with heaters and the driveways will be complete to move through the framed-in homes.
