About the 2022 Kate's Club Memory Walk
In 2003, Kate’s Club launched with a gathering of six children for a social outing at a bowling alley and has matured into a dynamic nonprofit that has helped thousands of metro Atlanta grieving kids ages 5 to 18, and their families, understand how to cope with their grief and know they are not alone. Kate’s Club remains committed to empowering children, teens, and young adults facing life after the death of a parent, sibling, or caregiver.
In 2021, Kate’s Club served more than 1,000 children and their caregivers, representing an estimated 7% of newly bereaved youth in Georgia. One in 12 children in Georgia will experience the death of a parent or sibling before they are 18, and COVID-19 has only compounded this in Georgia, which has the 5th highest number of children bereaved by the pandemic.
As we approach our 20th anniversary, we want to draw attention to over 6,500 children and teens Kate's Club has empowered over the year with the 2022 Memory Walk theme - "Walking Through the Decades."
The Memory Walk gives children and their families the opportunity to honor and walk in memory of their loved ones who have passed away, surrounded by a community of support. This year, the 2022 Kate’s Club Memory Walk - "Walking through the Decades" is being held on Sunday, November 6 at 10 a.m. at the Piedmont Park Promenade.
