About the 2021 Kate's Club Memory Walk
At the beginning of each program, whether in-person or virtual, our members, volunteers, and staff come together for a "Welcome Circle" and sing the Kate's Club Song. The song begins and ends with the phrase "We come together, We come together as one."
This song embodies what Kate's Club stands for - creating a community and world in which it is ok to grieve. Since the middle of March 2020, we have been forced to remain physically distant in a time where community is more beneficial than ever.
Our community was not only affected by the grief from COVID-19 related deaths but also by the absence of rituals that are often so important to the grieving process, such as funerals or end-of-life arrangements.
For the annual 2021 Memory Walk, we want to place special emphasis on everyone in our community who has been affected by COVID-19 in one way or another, whether that be by death, loss of ritual or separation. On May 16, join us at one of four pop-up locations around Atlanta, or in your own neighborhood, to walk in honor of our community and those who have been affected by the pandemic. Please wear a mask!
We hope that our theme, "We Come Together as One" inspires everyone, no matter location or connection to Kate's Club, to join us in walking for a stronger community.
