Our Inaugural OGB SuperHeroes vs Villians 5K/10K Run.Walk.Roll and 1-Mile Kids Race will once again be held in San Antonio, TX on Saturday, November 18, 2017. This year we are honoring seven World War II heroes whom are members of the elite 65th Infantry Division, The Borinqueneers!

The San Antonio, TX OGB event features AMAZING, FAST RACE ROUTES!

In adddition to the always popular 5K & 10K races, the event includes:

  • Superheros vs Villains Costume Contest - $100 prizes for the best adult and child costumes
  • "Superhero vs Villains" Kids Race - 1 mile, .5 mile, and 400 meter distances available for kids of all ages!
  • A Kids Zone full of activities for kids of all ages
  • Salute to Veterans - This year we are honoring 7 World War II Heroes whom are members of the elite 65th Infantry Division aka: The Borinqueneers
  • The Annauncement of the Inaugural OGB High School Junior ROTC Drill and Ceremony Competition 2017 Champions - the winner of the competition receives a $500.00 prize!
  • Vendor/Sponsor Displays
  • A Silent Auction
  • Food and Drinks for all registrered participants
  • Awards for the fastest race finishers (individual and team), biggest fundraisers (individual and team), and largest group of registrants (Boots on the Ground)

 

 DESIGN THE KIDS RACE MEDAL AND WIN $100

OGB needs your child's help to design the medals for the "Superheroes vs Villains" Kids Races scheduled for  November 18, 2017. The winning design will be used as the design for the San Antonio Kids race and possibly be used nationally for other OGB events. Here is the best part! The winner will be awarded $100. So, design away! The design must be e-mailed to info@OGB1.org by September 15, 2017. OGB will collect the designs and a specially selected 5 person panel will vote on the best design. There are no rules for the design except to keep it clean and that the design should be completely created by a child. The winner will be recognized and receive their $100 prize on stage on November 18,2017.

100% of all donations raised from the Inaugural OGB "Superheroes vs Villians" 5K/10K Run.Walk.Roll and Kids Race (minus race expences) will suport wounded warriors, their families, and the children of our Fallen Heroes.

Amenities

Post-Race food and beverages will be provided. All 5K & 10K participants will receive a medal at the finish of the race.

 

Packet Pick-Up and Race Expo

Race Packet, including race bib with Ultra disposable tag, technical t-shirt, and information, can be picked up at our race expo.

Group leaders need to provide their POC info (name, email, and contact phone #) with a list of people in the group to registration@OGB1.org no later than November 14, 2017

Silent Auction

         

The Silent Auction has become a popular part of the OGB Run.Walk.Roll Event. Our last Silent Auction was able to raise additional funds for our Fallen Heroes Children Christmas Gifts Project. We are very grateful to receive donations from businesses, members and supporters, as well as many artists who donate their own artwork.

We are again asking for your donations. Some popular items have included art, pottery, jewelry, gift certificates (restaurants, stores, etc.), massage, skin care, tours (Kayaking, canoeing, biking), tickets to music and sporting events, and weekend beach gateways to destinations like Puerto Rico. If you wish to donate an item, please contact info@OGB1.org.

If you are interested in bidding on items, check out the silent auction table at the Inaugural OGB Run.Walk.Roll and Kids Race on Saturday, November 18th! Silence Auction Funds raised benefit and help us to rally support for our Wounded Warriors, their families, and the children of our FALLEN HEROES.

Kids Zone

         

The Inaugural OGB “SuperHeroes vs Villains” 5K/10K and Kids Race has been designed as a family fun experience. The Kids Zone is provided free to the kids so they can enjoy Bounce Houses and many games donated by Home Depot. From the Inaugural race, Home Depot has chosen to partner with OGB as the main sponsor of the Kids Zone. Parents: bring your kids to the event for a fun time for all.

Team Registration

There is no limit to the number of people allowed on a team. However, a team must have a minimum of four people to qualify for team timing awards.

 

Team Divisions

  • Men’s – 4 or more men
  • Women’s – 4 or more women
  • Co-Ed – 2 men / 2 women

 

Team Scoring

The top 4 finish times of your team will be used to calculate the results for each team division timing award.

 

Race and Expo Parking

Free parking will be available to all runners in Garage D across from the CFE Arena and near-by outdoor parking lots.

 

“Superheroes vs. Villains” Kids Race

Following the 5K/10K, there will be a Superheroes vs. Villains kid’s race for children 12 & under. There are three distances to choos from, a 400m race, a .5 mile race, and a 1-mile race, so that children of all ages and abilities can participate! The races will be officially timed! The cost is $17.50 to register for the race.  All children will receive a t-shirt, ribbon and other small gifts. The top 3 runners from each age group/race will receive a trophy!!

“Boots on Ground” Award

To help raise awareness of our wounded warriors, we encourage our companies, organizations, and groups to register as many people as possible.  The group with the most registered runners as identified on their registration form will be given the "Boots on the Ground" award plaque to proudly display within their company/corporate office.
