Miles for Maji- Boston is a student inspired fundraiser and awareness campaign to be held on Earth Day, 4/22/2017 at Chestnut Hill Reservoir from 8am-11am.  A 5k Race will begin at 9am, a Mile Walk will begin at 9:30, register for 1 and you're welcome to participate in both!

Miles for Maji was born when a group of North American High School students went on a service trip to Tanzania in the summer of 2016.  They experienced first hand what it was like to walk a day in the shoes of a Tanzanian women or child.  They walked with the girls of the village, only to collect dirty water which they had to carry back to the village in 5 gallon buckets.   It was a truly difficult tasks and the Team was motivated to take action to improve the lives of their global neighbors. After some brain storming 3 young, powerful girls moved forward in planning 5k runs in partnership with Save the Rain to take place in each of their home states.

The Goal is to fund the entire village of Makiba, Tanzania receiving access to clean water for the next 200+ years.  Currently the primary school in Makiba has 1,100 students, their walk for water is 6 hours long, 70% of the students are suffering from waterborne illness and 53% are flunking out because of it.  100% of your registration fee and any funds raised will go directly to providing these students access to clean water.

Save the Rain is a non-profit organization committed to improving the lives of Tanzanians by educating communities on how to harvest the rain by constructing catchment systems built from local materials, by the local workforce, thus assuring sustainability. As always, 100% of public donations provided to Save the Rain goes directly to funding projects.  It only cost $15 to provide a child and all of their future offspring clean drinking for a life time.  So THANK YOU for your support, now spread the word!

PRIZES will be given for fundraising!
