Clara Kirk runs Clara’s House, a transitional shelter in Chicago where women stay up to 120 days, and Clara’s Place, a 13-unit apartment building for long-term occupants. Clara has been running the shelters for women and children without any grants since 2005. At 72 years old, with little means of her own, Clara Kirk, this beautiful little woman with a heart of goodness and kindness, continues to help those who otherwise would literally go without. And no, not go without luxury cars or the latest electronic gadget, but literally without food and shelter.
Clara's House just had their gas turned back by a very special anonymous donor. Now, she needs a new van to drive her families. She needs our help now, as winter has quickly arrived in Chicago.
