FUNDRAISING :: Corazon de Vida San Diego Chapter
Welcome to the Corazon de Vida
San Diego Chapter
The Corazon de Vida San Diego Chapter is an all-volunteer Leadership Council organized to raise funds and awareness and to create a community of support for Corazon de Vida and its mission. Join us for fund raising events, cultural events, meeting like-minded people, and spread the love and incredible memories.
The Chapter is currently working on projects that are specific to the needs of the orphanages. Special fundraisers and fundraising campaigns are set up to raise funds and awareness of the need. Please check out our campaigns on this page and help us by donating, promoting and/or creating a fundraising page!
Farming at Casa de Paz and Rancho el Faro
To help the homes become partly self-sustaining, a farming project is in the works, supported by Corazon de Vida’s San Diego Chapter and led by volunteer Afrodita (Dita) Victoria in partnership with Susie’s Farms in San Diego. The plan includes two greenhouses for vegetables, the planting of berries and table grapes for jams and jellies, animal pens for the production of milk, eggs and other by-products to serve the orphanages in the area and eventually can provide a source of revenue to the two orphanages for true self-sustainability.
On-Line Learning Centers
In an effort to support primary and secondary education at the orphanages, the San Diego Chapter has a project of installing learning centers at the orphanages. Created and led by volunteers Leah Alagna and Karissa Pierinin, the mission of these learning centers is to provide hope, support, and inspiration to orphaned children through engaging educational learning programs. These learning centers provide education for those who are not currently enrolled in school and also provide enrichment for those who are currently in school by using engaging learning programs that inspire, motivate, and entertain students in the orphanages using the platform of education.
Orphanages in Baja must pay all expenses, including utilities. Electricity is one of the highest costs for an orphanage. The San Diego Chapter is looking into options for replacing electricity with solar energy. This project is in the beginning stages.
About Corazon de Vida
Corazon de Vida provides life-changing support for orphaned and abandoned children in Baja, Mexico by funding local orphanages, providing quality of life improvement services and investing in the children’s future by funding higher education.
Through our life-sustaining program we provide monthly funding for the orphanages under our care. These orphanages give abandoned children security, nutrition, shelter and access to a reliable education. We also fund scholarships for teens aging out of the orphanage system to continue their education.
