Increase youth engagement, responsibility, and achievement at GV's one-week intensive, interactive and collaborative professional development institute is held in late August (8:30am-4pm, M-F).
Participants earn 30 continuing education clock hours from the Washington Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (or 3 credits from Seattle University's College of Education) while learning Global Leadership and Democratic Classroom pedagogy, approaches and content, and then applying those practices during the institute and in the post-Institute Professional Learning Community.
Educators receive dozens of teaching and learning tools and then demonstrate efficacy and confidence through individual/group work and assignments, applying best practices through demonstrations, and incorporating global issues and sustainability content into their course plans. GV provides follow-up coaching and support post-institute.
2017's fee structure is $750 for the one-week tuition (includes book, light snacks, 30 clock hours).
"Interactive program with real materials, skilled presenters, and enthusiastic participants. I'm so glad that there's going to be a follow up!" - Gretchen Mahon, high school teacher
