Often children with epilepsy can’t attend camp because of their seizures. Too many children with seizures lose their friends and feel different and alone. That’s why the camp experience is so important for kids with epilepsy.

Help support a camp experience for kids with epilepsy. Your donation can change a life.

Help underwrite camp or sponsor part or all of a camp scholarship – or several of them – and give a child with epilepsy the gift of friends, happiness and adventure in a safe and accepting place.

Make a donation today to the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles and support the SHINING STARS program which offers various camp, recreational, and fun outings for kids with epilepsy.

At camp, kids with epilepsy can shine and enjoy a memorable experience without the fear that they will be teased or bullied because they have seizures. Through individual and group activities, campers build self-confidence and develop friendships that can last for years (as has been proven by those who have participated in our past camps held over the past ten years)!

Your donation to the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles will help support the following:

1.    California’s Camp Coelho, Yosemite, June 23-28, 2013

2.    Family Day, Camp Tumbleweed, July 20, 2013

3.    Other Shining Stars activities

Your individual donation is so appreciated, and we invite you to also ‘become a fundraiser’ and invite your friends and contacts to donate as well. Simply, click on the link above, create your personal fundraising page and invite your friends and family to make an online donation.

About Camp Coelho
Children with epilepsy (ages 12-15 years) are invited to join other children with epilepsy for California's Camp Coelho from June 23-28, 2013 at Camp Wamona in Yosemite. In a beautiful, natural setting, campers accomplish manageable feats of skill and meet the challenges of archery, climbing walls, horseback riding, ropes courses, swimming, and team sports along with arts and crafts, evenings by the campfire, and walks through the nature center. These experiences will build confidence and develop self-esteem in a safe, nurturing environment.

If you are a parent and interested in sending your child to Camp Coehlo and/or other camp opportunities, please check out our End Epilepsy website for more information.
