Hello everyone!  Something pretty cool happened today - Stellafly posted a piece I wrote about Malala and education on their blog.  If you have a few minutes, check it out!

Also, don't forget to donate if you haven't yet -- or if you want to again!  Let's get to $1,500 by the end of May!

Ari's Mohawk/What's Next

Update #2  •   Posted 2881 day(s) ago

So as most of you know from Facebook or wherever else, we exceeded the goal of $600 which means Ari was able to get his mohawk!!!

What's next on my list of fundraising tactics?  Targeting local businesses.  I know that these places probably get donation requests all the time, so I'm not expecting too much, but even if my request simply helps raise awareness for this cause I will feel like I've done something to help.  Out of the 31 emails I've sent thus far, I've received two responses:  one requesting I call them (there's hope!) and one declining my request.  I've at least as many to contact yet, so hopefully there will be a few more positive responses.

If you know any local businesses or if you are involved with a local business, contact me if you'd like more information.  And as always, please continue to help spread the word about my fundraiser!  The more shares, the better.

Help Ari Get a Mohawk!

Update #1  •   Posted 2900 day(s) ago

Up to $375 from $200 within just a day!  That was awesome!  Still have a long ways to go, but I know it can be done!!

So here's the deal.  Ari has really been wanting a mohawk lately but I'm not so keen on the idea.  He definitely needs a haircut though.  If you haven't seen it lately, it's kind of out of control (see photo below).  So, I've told him that if my fundraiser hits $600 by Friday, April 15, he can get his mohawk.

Help Ari get his mohawk and at the same time help out this campaign by donating!  Proceeds go to the Malala Fund, which is helping the United Nations fund its global development goal of providing 12 years of free, quality primary and seconday education for all children by 2030.

In September 2015, world leaders, meeting at the United Nations in New York, committed to a new set of global development goals including a commitment to deliver free, quality primary and secondary education for every child by 2030.

That means 12 years of education for every child, not 6 years, or 9. This is Malala's vision. Because every girl deserves more than a basic education.
