Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!
As many of you know how much I love to run *cough (Joking) cough* I am going to run the Tri-
City Medical Center Carlsbad Half Marathon in January.  I am so proud to be running for an
amazing cause in support of my favorite non-profit organization and I am sincerely asking for
your help in taking on this challenge.

A little about the who and what I am running for:
Jeans 4 Justice is a San Diego-born nonprofit (fully 501(c) tax-deductible) organization
dedicated to changing the way people think and act with regard to sexual violence.  90% of
funds raised by the volunteers (like myself) go to enrich and educate the community with
programs like LEAD IT where workshops are conducted for students at colleges and high
schools to give them the knowledge needed to prevent, and to deal with sexual violence.

The name Jeans 4 Justice comes from a grassroots campaign inspired by a 1999 case in which
an Italian High Court overturned a rape conviction because the victim was wearing jeans.  The
court concluded, “It is common knowledge…that jeans cannot even be partly removed without
the effective help of the person wearing them…and it is impossible if the victim is struggling
with all her might.” Is that not insane? And to think this was just over a decade ago.
Did you know that 1 out of every 6 American women has been the victim of an attempted or
completed rape in her lifetime?  This is why I chose to support Jeans 4 Justice, so men, women
and children have a voice against sexual violence and optimistically to reduce sexual violence
in the future.

I really hope that you can help me reach my fundraising goal, any donation is appreciated,
consider giving up one cup of Starbucks for a worthy cause.  If you donate $100 dollars I will
dedicate one mile to you or the loved one of your choosing; I will wear the name with honor.
While the thought of running 13.1 miles is a challenge in and of itself, I considered the task of
raising money for a charity to be more difficult and by far a nobler cause than testing my own
physical limitations.  But with that said, I am extremely motivated to run the entire 13 miles
for Jeans 4 Justice and those who have donated.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my page and have an amazing day!
