Welcome back for my second year of Dam that Cancer!  It was a tough experience last year, but no better choice than to perservere and get back in to it again.

On June 12, I will be stand-up paddle boarding 21 miles on the Colorado River to raise money for a cause that is so close to my heart! So many people are affected by one cancer diagnosis, and I want to help provide access to mental health support for those in need.

2016 was my first year participating in Dam that Cancer and the perspective I came out of the day with was nothing short of moving.  As an endurance athlete, I know what it feels like to be physically challenged. Last year's event was unlike anything I've experienced before. Completing 21 miles via SUP with a strong headwind made an already tough feat even harder. When you feel like it's too much, you still can't stop, you can't pull to the side, you can't get out of the water. When it gets hard, you just have to keep pushing, keep digging that paddle in to the water. I've never been put in a situation where I can't stop if I wanted to... But people diagnosed with cancer face this EVERY DAY - let that soak in. All the people who supported me in the day, especially my fellow paddlers whose hours of mental support fueled the day, much like the Flatwater Foundation does for cancer patients and their families. Forever changed, still processing the greatness of yesterday and ready to do it again.

Help me support The Flatwater Foundation by making a donation. Your donation will provide access to mental health care for individuals and families touched by a cancer diagnosis that would otherwise not be able to get the care they need. I am working to raise at least $2,000 to embark on this 21-mile journey to take a stand; won't you please consider sponsoring one of my 21 miles with a donation? This will ensure we meet our goal, and will help so many in need.

Thanks so much for your generosity!
