As Director of Fostering Success Michigan, I'm very excited to announce the FIRST EVER Fostering Success Michigan Fundraiser! In true FSM form, it’s going to be innovative and fun! I am committed to this work and to my belief that we can EASILY raise $10,000 to support FSM programming through 2023…SO I’m going to rappel off of a building in Miami to prove it! I need your DONATIONS to support me!  

10 YEARS OF IMPACT:

FSM has worked diligently, creatively, and passionately since 2012 to build a nationally recognized statewide initiative focused on college access and success for youth with experience in foster care in Michigan. I am so proud of where we are today! When FSM began, 5 campuses were interested in building support for youth with experience in foster care across the state. Since then, our Higher Education Consortium has identified, onboarded, and supported over 30 campuses statewide. Since 2012, 2,700 students have been supported and over 400 students have graduated with degrees. 

FSM is recognized nationally as a leader in this work and our model for development of statewide support has been used by multiple states and organizations to support youth with experience in foster care. FSM is proud to be a member of the Educate Tomorrow family, a national organization focused on postsecondary access and success for youth with experience in foster care and homelessness. 

NATIONAL REACH:

In 2021, Educate Tomorrow recognized the progressive and innovative work of Fostering Success Michigan and committed to supporting FSM programming as a complement to work happening in Florida via the Positive Pathways Program. Our partnership represents the ONLY multistate, collective impact collaboration focused on increasing college access and success for youth with experience in foster care nationally. We are THRILLED to be leading data and advocacy efforts via Fostering Academic Achievement Nationwide (FAAN Network) and look forward to joining our colleagues in this national movement in support of youth with experience in foster care in postsecondary access and success.
