I’m running the NYC Marathon, my first marathon, this Sunday, November 3, and would like to make the most of it by drawing more attention to and support for the race to develop more effective treatments for pediatric brain cancer. This research is dramatically underfunded today.

On the heels of Team KVZ’s strong showing earlier this month at the Children’s National 5K, raising nearly $70,000 (!) to support patients and families, I am running this race in honor of Kasey and Team KVZ, with the goal of tacking on AT LEAST $5,000.

Our cousin Kasey was diagnosed with medulloblastoma nearly four years ago on the eve of her sixth birthday and has been bravely fighting it with the help of so many ever since. Every kid and family that is facing this battle needs better treatment options.

Every ounce of awareness, support and funding propels us closer to the day where diseases like Kasey’s can be cured.

4,000 kids are diagnosed with malignant brain tumors every year - 11 every day. The Lilabean Foundation funds critical pediatric brain cancer research and works to increase awareness, giving children a higher chance of survival and families more hope.
